Yesterday afternoon Capt. Robert was going sailing in his little “Pirate Ship” and when I walked out on the dock to photograph him I disturbed our Ospreys (still not sure who they are) and they flew off!! Gotta be careful about walking on the dock until they are settled in or they will leave!! BTW Capt. Robert, your little “Pirate Ship” really scoots....be careful or you’ll be swimmin’!! LOL! Check Jack Howison out at his new web: http://www.coosawjackphotography.com/

I got a note from the Captain this morning telling of the fog. He and his neighbor down the way Jack Howison were fog in like "Pea Soup". You may want to take a look at their local online news paper at http://beauforttribune.com/ to see what is published there also.
After reading an article published in the Beaufort Lifestyle http://beaufortlifestyle.com/Beaufort_Lifestyle/ADVERTISE.html that Jack Howison sent me about Captain Robert K. Brooks. I wrote the captain and told him along with all else he owns all he needed now was a Pirate Ship. The next thing I know I get a note back and his version of a Pirate Ship.

Ahoy and Good Morning Gloria & Dan.
No flying this morning, fog so thick that I cant even see the end of my dock.
.1 mile visibility. I guess I will just work on the Duck instead in hopes for
tomorrow.
I know it is kind of difficult to see my
sailboat " PHALAROPE " from the photo in the mag.
She is a 46' Formosa sloop. It was my fathers ship, he lived in Ohio and the
house I live in was to be his retirement place. He Passed from Parkinson Disease
and was never really able to enjoy it. Mom preferred Ohio. I have been taking
care of it and been the Captain of her, since I moved here in 1991. The entire
interior is all Teak and needs consistent oiling.
4 years ago , I won the " Blessing of
the Fleet " for the best decorated boat, my Pirate Ship, and even had my
cannon on board, for effect. Fun time for all aboard.
Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of ? me. Arrghh.
Well, need to go get out my sword and cut a
hole thru this fog to get out to the end of the Dock.
Take care and God Speed my friends.
Sincerely, Captain Robert.

The pictures that Jack Howison sent to us all this morning "Say it all FOG!".

Well......no Sun to color the sky this morning!!!
HEAVY FOG blocked everything but the Shrimpers?? Yep.......I heard them clearing their nets on the deck of their boat and finally saw them when they passed by about 75 feet from me (photo 016) motoring along.......hope they have a GPS!!!
Most of the photos this AM look B&W....kind of neat but I really prefer the colors and clouds!! Maybe tomorrow??
The forecast for the next 5 days looks to be clear, calm and mild with highs in the low 80's....P-E-R-F-E-C-T Fall weather!!
Happy Saturday!!

Subject: Sunset to Sunrise at Port MorganAhoy My friends Gloria and Jack.
The weather has been absolutely fantastic the past few days. What a whirlwind
weekend....... My new Lady friend, Irene and her two Grandchildren , Ethan ( 5 )
and Abby ( 3 ) , came by to spend the night at my " Boating Camp for Jr.
Pirates" . What a workout !
It is amazing how much energy the Young one's have. They took to " PHALAROPE " , like fish to water. Captain's Big Pirate ship. Arrghh. Yesterday , I took the whole crew + my friend Richard and his 3 children, out for a - Two Hour Tour Sail - aboard my Racing Sloop " FREEDOM " . There was not much wind, 3 mph, but everybody got a chance to Steer and help with the sails lines. All had a fun time.
Then , jumped ship for the faster sea craft.
" Mr. Schmeed " my 17' Key-West Powerboat. 35 mph +. They all giggled
and laughed , as I put the hammer down and did speed turns out in the Sound. Ha
Ha, this time I wore them out..... Both of the kids, were asleep within 5
minutes after we got back in and took a good 3 hr nap. Gave Irene and I some
time for ourselves to enjoy the quite at the end of the Dock. I am looking
forward to seeing them again in a few weeks. Arrghh. Little Pirates and Swabbies.
I was up early this AM, getting Irene off to work and was a Very Beautiful
Sunrise. Dropping you Guy's a few pix of the Sunset from Sat Night
and the Sunrise this morning. Good Grief Jack, how can you get up that early....... ? I should still be sacked out.. ? Oh well, just more Daylight to get things done. Definitely not going to become a habit for me. Yawn !!!
Ok, well I hope you both have a Great Day
and I will call you in a bit Jack. Need to get that carburetor from you. Till then.
Take care and be safe. Tell Danny , I said Arrghh to him too.
Capt Robert. Private Pilot/Pirate in command.

Note from our Captain this morning referred to a couple of missed clicks of the our keyboard's yesterday, NO PROBLEM! Capt. Robert EASY FIX! These guy's (Robert & Jack) have the most colorful way of saying things it's amazing. HOW COOL!
Ahoy Gloria.
Wow, I am truly at your service whenever you need an Honorable Pirate. Surely, I
am humbled by the creativity and time that you have put into the site dedicated
to the old Morgan . WE, definitely must Meet..... Thank you, very much.... I
inadvertently , hit the wrong key on Mee Lady Irene's , Grandson's name should
be Ethan instead of Evan.
Evan Almighty the movie was on the tube and I slipped on the keyboard.
????
Then missed on the Carb ( carburetor ) to get from Jack, not a
Crab. Hummm?/ Plenty of Crab's here at my seawall, only one carb for my boat motor...Huumm?
Again. Do not worry about fixing the site, my bad. Going to have to take a
Mulligan, on that one. Otherwise, I picked up the Carb and re installed it on
the motor, crossed fingers and pulled the start cord.
Vrrrooommm. Lit up like a X-max tree. First pull. Run's as smooth as a glassy
water pond. YeeHaa.
Now all I have to do is haul it down the boardwalk to the end of the dock , 0.1 mile long and wrestle it back onto the Jon-Boat. Will take it out for a sea trial here in a bit. Then I have to pull another carb off of another motor, to give to Jack, to give to John , (John Wright) good friend of both of us to clean up like the last one. Believe me, when you have 10 different styles of boat's it helps to have friends. My place looks more like a marina than a private home. Ahh, " Port Morgan ".
Well I had better get back to the grind, busy day ahead.
Again, Thank you very much for the attention you have given to me. Give Danny a
great bug hug and Arrgggh , for me.
Take care and have a Great Day My Friend. Yours Truly. Capt. Robert
Capt. sent along these pictures this morning, they're a smaller size and won't go much bigger.

Subject: Good Morning 10-18-10Sorry I'm a little late but I had to put my boat on the trailer today and the tide was already almost too low at 8:00....but I got it out OK.......FUN!!
The last few days have been almost carbon copies with the illumination of the Moon being the only difference......it's 82% illuminated presently!!
The birds and Porpoises were very active this morning and no fishermen today?? Must have caught 'em all yesterday!!??
Happy Monday!!
