Who would have thought knowing Jack Howison would have led me (Gloria Jean Powers Husk the wife of a Volunteer Chaplain) to "Captain Morgan" YES! that's right "Captain Morgan" of the "Spiced line of Rum" which is named after the pirate. It turned out that Jack knows Captain Robert Brooks who took flying lessons from Dru C. Anderson of Anderson Aviation!

Come fly with Certified Flight Instructor Dru C. Anderson at Anderson Aviation!

Before doing this web page I wrote Jack saying: I had been keeping all of the e-mails with Capt. Robert and Dru in them in a separate file on the chance of it being ok to put them all on a page of their own.

I just never did it though without them giving their consent and the same goes for not adding your bug net picture  to a page when you speak of no bugs.

He responded: I'll check with Robert if I talk to him today....they had a ROUGH time around Cincinnati......got diverted to another airport due to weather and the nose wheel didn't come down at first!!!  Robert was frazzled....so was Dru!!  I'm sure it will be OK but I'll check?? As for me you know you have permission and never have to ask....you do good things Gloria Jean!!

Gloria Jean, I just got off the phone with Robert and Dru and Robert is very excited that you are interested in doing a page for him (them) on your site!!  He even hollered Woooo Hoooo when I mentioned it.....which I guess means a BIG YES!!

He also asked that you be sure include Dru Anderson (his mentor, good friend and flight instructor) where it makes sense....especially in this trip!!  Robert would probably not have made it alone since he cannot fly in IFR weather so he's very thankful Dru accompanied him!!

Thanks again for being such a GREAT "Cyber Friend"!!! Jack

From: Jack Howison of Beaufort, SC
Robert actually bought the Lake Amphibian (N32DQ) earlier this year and I will send you photos of us picking it up in Camden, SC back in January this year......he and Dru flew it back to Beaufort (125 miles) and landed in the dark!!!

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Buccaneer
The Lake Buccaneer is an American four-seat light amphibious aircraft originally developed as the Colonial C-2 Skimmer, itself a development of the two-seat Colonial C-1 Skimmer.

BTW, Mt. Mitchell is the highest peak East of the Rockies!!

Ahoy Mss Gloria. I want to thank you for taking the time to create the Site. ( Job Well Done )

It's a shame you are not close by, or I would Kiss your hand, as a proper Gentleman should. Then ask you for a " High 3 and a half ",  I lost my left index finger, long ago. Have a very nice hook that I put on the end.. LOL.

fly32.jpg (195136 bytes) fly33.jpg (226572 bytes)

I don't think Dru will mind you writing about the Adventures, We have flown together. Jack has sent a copy of the local Town Magazine, and I believe you will know me a little better.

Yes, that is the picture of my Great, Great, Great ..... Grandfather, Sir William Henry Morgan.
We both have the same facial structure, curly hair, but I am not that ? Chubby ?
Almost as if , that was me, then. Errie... Oh, well.

It was a very long flight over the mountains, from here to Ohio. 560 miles. Plenty of exciting moments, both directions. Glad to be home.

Again, Thank You, My Lady for the Great composite of the Captain & Dru.
God Speed and be Safe.

Sincerely. Captain Robert K. Brooks, AKA. Captain Morgan.
" Drink Responsibly " Arrghhh.

PS: Just spoke with Dru and he is Ok with the Site.

Captain Robert K. Brooks, AKA. Captain Morgan invites you to visit his YouTube site for more GREAT STUFF!  http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=RjMorganB2&aq=f

The other day Capt. Robert stated in a note we might be a bit jealous, of him living near the Water and having mostly good Weather. I told him NO WAY Jealous! of Water or Weather! We live 500 feet of the Gulf of Mexico at Lanark Reef in St. George Sound in the Florida panhandle. Like my husband Danny said "The only thing he is jealous of is the fact Capt. Robert can fly a real plane and all he can do is fly on the PC Flight Simulator".

Sent: Wednesday, October 06, 2010 9:36 AM Subject: Re: Living at the water!

Good AM, Ms. Gloria. How is the weather there today? Jack never told me where you live. Will have to Google earth your location and see how far it is from here to there. Rather hop over Florida and stay at sea level, than battle with the Mountains, any time. A bit chilly here today, but a lot warmer that when I was in Ohio. 41 deg. Aaaahhh, Burrr. I like to go where the weather suits my clothes. Well, tell Mr. Dan I said Arrghh and looking forward to meeting you one of these days. Till then, take care be safe. Capt. Robert.

What BEAUTIFUL Sunrays! Capt. Robert caught while in flight. Clouds always make me feel like being in Heaven and just get out and walk on them. Thanks Capt.
