Elevating People to Their Potential
The Chaplainry Department at Franklin C.I. just had their first official
Re-Entry Graduation. Twenty one Inmates each graduated from three classes
offered as a part of the Re-Entry program. Each class represents sixteen hours
of intense study over a twelve week period (one semester).
Robert Jetton, Volunteer Chaplain opened the ceremony with prayer followed by
two dynamic songs by the Chapel Music Team.
Warden Duffie Harrison was the Key Note Speaker, delivering a dynamic speech
stressing the importance of Character. " Character can hide your
weaknesses" said Warden Harrison.
Three Inmates who graduated from the classes gave touching testimonies about how
the classes have impacted each one of them.
Dan Husk, Volunteer Chaplain spends several hours per week facilitating the
Re-Entry classes at Franklin C.I. As he was flooded with applause for servitude,
Chaplain Husk commented that he did not deserve the accolades given him, that,
it is a team effort which makes a program like ours happen.
The graduates were presented with very nice certificates and Bibles followed by
the benediction and cake.
Already, we have one hundred men on the waiting list for next semester's
classes. We are excited as the graduation ceremony will include guest speaker,
Isaac Williams and a brand new original Re-Entry play written by Franklin C.I.
Chapel program. The play will Challenge inmates to make wise decisions that will
lead to a successful future.
Franklin C.I. has an excellent religious program supported by two Volunteer
Chaplain's, Robert Jetton and Dan Husk along with over one hundred Volunteers
and excellent staff. Thanks to Ricky Cloud, AWP and Duffie Harrison, Warden for
elevating people to their potential.

April 20, 2010 Hi Pastor Judy,
Well, today we started the 3 days of auditing by the "American
Corrections Association" , they Accredit the prisons and they were very
impressed with the chapel program. One of the ladies was so impressed that she
took lots of notes on my curriculum and also asked to set in a session which I
will do on Wednesday morning so I am asking you to pray for that.
Also the Chaplain has authorized me to take on 3 teacher-aides so my new
"title-position" is Director of Re-Entry programs, I will actually
have 3 aides that will help me by teaching/facilitating programs. I am
starting one this week on Anger Management and next week plan to have one for
Faith and Finance, we are looking at starting also programs on MARRIAGE and
BIBLICAL HEALTH/HYGIENE.
Also at the Bay City Work Camp I will soon be finishing up Celebrate Recovery
and also starting RE-ENTRY Classes there.
Tomorrow we are baptizing 13 in the chapel, pray for them also.
Now I know how Jabez felt!! Praise God!
As usual Gloria encourages me and totally supports me in more ways than one.
Thank You Jesus, Danny
